Art workshop testimonials from some of my
great students. It's been a pleasure to tutor all of them.

Half Day Mixed Media
Louise’s mixed media course was so much fun, I really loved learning new techniques! I felt like a child in a sweetshop with all the various materials that Louise had to offer in her beautiful studio on the seafront. I really gained a lot of confidence to create new and exciting artwork. Louise really does bring out all of your creative energy!
The course was great value for money and there was an endless supply of Bourbon biscuits. If you're thinking of doing a mixed media course you will really enjoy the day.
Taster Session - Bespoke
It was a pleasure to meet and spend time with you and to see your work. You have inspired me to practice and learn more. It's amazing how working in the ways you showed me completely changes the quality of the work to be more visceral. I have some ideas, well lots of ideas but getting them out in visual form is hard like you say, without reference material. I love the palettes in Pinterest, it's quite exciting now to have some new tools. I did a quick sketch in different proportions and line types. I like black ink.

Louise put me at ease and started with very basic sketching exercises before moving onto using paint. Throughout the session, Louise constantly spoke about different aspects of painting and of the use of colour and materials and was happy to relate matters to her own experiences. It was a real privilege to be able to tap into the brain of such a talented artist. I soon stopped feeling that I ‘’didn’t have the right’’ at my age to be learning anything ‘arty’ and I left feeling totally uplifted and in the belief that I had enrolled as a true student of art. Louise has a lovely nature and is wonderful to be around. I can highly recommend her.
Louise gave me new insights in to drawing that I would never have had otherwise. My drawing was quite limited as I'd been sticking to a couple of techniques, but showing me different approaches and ways of putting pencil to paper has expanded and changed my drawing for the better. Louise is a very thoughtful teacher, patiently exploring the concepts with the student. I gained a whole lot from our session and would recommend Louise to anyone; I'll be going back for further study.

Lou is not only an amazing artist but also a wonderful teacher. She is understanding and supportive and helped me enormously in working on unblocking myself creatively. She provides a friendly, warm environment and gave me lots of ideas on how to keep the process going. Can't recommend her enough!

My end result of the art class with Lou, was to expand my artistic range and style in illustration. I was amazed to see a new direction and depth to my mark making, line work, all based on the exercises she took me thorough. I've never seen this aspect of my art before. An underlying structure of knowing how to illustrate was instantly dispelled through the exercises.
Lou took me through exercises that expanded my relationship with this medium. A new found practice has now been established, broadening my artistic horizons, breathing new life into existing and future art projects. A big big thank you Lou. A complete pleasure to have met and been taught by you.

12 Sessions - Drawing and Painting
Just to say a thank you for teaching me. I always leave with lots to put into practice, and the small drawing technique will live with me as well as the mixed media. It shows how good a teacher you are. I can't thank you enough for your patience. Lou, just want to say THANK YOU for a great and challenging evening, I'm learning loads! Thank you so, so much.
Great lesson last night, I now realise you taught me how to paint anything straight onto canvas. Chuffed you taught me that!
